Dipotassium hydrogen phosphate trihydrate appears as colorless flake or acicular crystals or white granules. It is deliquescent and easily soluble in water (about 1 g is soluble in 3 mL of water). The aqueous solution is weakly alkaline, with the pH of a 1% aqueous solution being approximately 9. It is insoluble in ethanol. The density is 2.33 g/cm³.
