Triethanolamine oleic acid soap has good emulsifying properties and can disperse oily substances in water, making them easier to clean or handle. It can also form a stable emulsion that allows two hydrophilic and hydrophobic substances to mix evenly and prevent them from separating.

The method for preparing triethanolamine oleic acid soap is to react oleic acid with triethanolamine to form triethanolamine oleate. The reaction is generally carried out at an appropriate temperature and reaction time, and a catalyst is usually required.
