In the presence of salt, the ions in the solution can interact with the surfactant molecules, causing them to become more tightly packed and more likely to form micelles. This can help to increase the stability of the micelles and prevent them from breaking down, which can increase the viscosity of the formula solution. 

Additionally, salt can also work as a cleaning assistant with sterilization and oil-controlling properties in cleaning formulations for fabric, hair, and skin.
