Potassium carbonate

It is anhydrous or contains 1.5 hydrates. Anhydrous form occurs as white, granular powder and hydrated form occurs as white, translucent crystal or granule. It's odorless and smells alkali. I air, it's very deliquescent. It's freely soluble in water and aqueous solution is alkaline. It's insoluble in ethanol or ether.

Product Application

Potassium carbonate can be used in glass, printing and dyeing, soap, enamel, preparation of potassium salt, decarbonylation of synthetic ammo-nia, also used in color TV industry, mainly used as leavening agent in food.

Mainly used for analytical reagents. Such as high-purity analysis, emission spectrum analysis, etc. It can also be used as a flux for silicates and insoluble sulfates, as a water absorbent for organic liquids and in electroplating, fertilizer, and photography industries.

It is used in the manufacture of picture tube glass bulbs in the electronic industry, the decarbonization of fertilizer production, the manufacture of potassium salts, as analytical reagents, fluxes, and also in the preparation of various potassium salts; for analytical reagents, reference reagents and fused silicates and Flux for insoluble sulfates.
